David Langer is a 24-year old Internet entrepreneur and the co-founder & CEO of GroupSpaces, a software company which takes the pain out of managing real-world groups. He has a strong interest in personal development, productivity, psychology and entrepreneurship, and these are the fields most frequently explored on Freed from The Matrix.
Having graduated with an honours degree in Mathematics from Oxford University in 2007, he was awarded 2nd place in the UK Graduate of the Year competition for his achievements throughout his student career. In addition to setting up GroupSpaces, these included receiving the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, an Explorer Award for conservation work from the John Muir Trust and being selected as one of FreshMinds Ones to Watch™ for the future.
Prior to catching the entrepreneurial bug, David worked in Investment Management at Lehman Brothers, Exotic Derivatives Trading at JPMorgan and did the Discover course at McKinsey.
David has also been a fanatical sportsman throughout his life and was most notably English doubles champion as well as a member of the England table tennis squad as a junior. More recently he presided at Oxford University’s table tennis and motor racing clubs and is now training for his latest pursuit of triathlon.
In addition to spending much of his time organising the world’s groups with GroupSpaces, David is currently a member of the Advisory Board at Oxford Entrepreneurs society, an Ambassador for the Make Your Mark scheme and the Entrepreneurship Columnist for national student newspaper The Gateway.
